Elizabeth Foreman is a candidate for State Senate in District 15. With experience in public administration, law enforcement, public education, and health care, Elizabeth brings over a decade of expertise in private and public sector budgeting.
“As your State Senator, I’ll be a staunch advocate for our children's future and support policies that benefit working families, create job opportunities, and ensure fair wages. I’ll fight for affordable housing, mental health care, and quality child care. I will fight against attacks on public schools and against the turnpike that threatens our homes.”
Foreman grew up in Noble, where her family still resides, and graduated from Noble High School in 2001. At the University of Oklahoma, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and a Master's degree in Public Administration. She is finishing her Doctorate in Administration and Leadership from Southern Nazarene University and teaches part-time at Oklahoma City Community College.
“Our communities rally around our schools both socially and economically. A robust public education system is essential for fostering well-rounded individuals ready to contribute to society. I will work to secure funding for schools, support educators, and enhance the overall quality of public education.”
Foreman managed all non-police operations for nearly a decade as Finance Director for the OU Health Sciences Center Police Department. Responsible for the Department's $5 million budget, she reconciled monthly financials, payroll, pensions, supply chain management, and contract negotiations with external entities.
Since 2021, Elizabeth has worked for the Oklahoma Primary Care Association, a nonprofit that supports community health centers across the state. As Director of Finance & Accounting, she manages federal, state, and foundation grants that expand health care access across Oklahoma.
Alongside her commitment to supporting public education, health care, and mental health care is Foreman’s commitment to opposing the proposed turnpike through eastern Cleveland County.
“I am deeply concerned about the proposed turnpike expansion that threatens to remove homes and displace families, including my mother. These houses are not mere buildings but the foundation of our family units. I will work tirelessly to ensure that any infrastructure development is carried out responsibly and with due consideration for the impact on our residents.”
In July 2020, Foremen was sworn into office as the Ward 6 Council Member for the City of Norman, where she currently serves after being re-elected in 2022. Foreman is a member of the Oklahoma Municipal League, former Chair of the City of Norman Historic District Commission, and former Editorial Board member for the Norman Transcript. Elizabeth and her daughter are members of St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
“As a mom, it's up to me to pave a brighter future for my daughter. Oklahomans deserve leaders who listen and represent our values instead of imposing their beliefs onto us. We need common sense leaders who study all the facts and don't just toe the party line. As your State Senator, I’ll work across the aisle and do what's right, not just what's popular. I would be honored to have your vote.”
As a mom, Elizabeth understands that government decision have a real life affect on people. She is a common sense candidate who will put working families first, work across the aisle, and do what's right for all Oklahomans.
